✦ Suga ✦

2026

A wide green opening in the first half, then a narrow door that only fits work done honestly.

AT A GLANCE

The first half of 2026 gives Suga more room than usual. The second half asks what Suga actually built with it.

January through June runs warm and productive: ideas travel, the voice carries, momentum arrives without begging for it. From late March a slower pressure starts grinding against Suga's drive, and by summer the question is no longer how much is possible but how much can be sustained. October reopens something softer, but on stricter terms.

  • The year's job

Turn a generous six months of momentum into something structurally sound enough to survive the second six.

  • When it opens

January through early June, with a peak in the second week of March, and again from late September into December.

  • When it presses

Late May, all of July, and the first half of October — energy meets a wall that will not move on charm.

  • What it leaves

A smaller, harder, more honest sense of what Suga actually wants to spend a working life on.

The year hands Suga a great deal, then asks for the receipt.

Two rhythms run at once and they do not agree. From the opening days through early June, thinking is quick and the words land — the sense of speaking and being understood on the first try, of plans widening instead of narrowing. Suga will notice work moving faster than the effort put in. Then, from late March, something stiffens underneath. Drive meets resistance: the body slower, the schedule heavier, the same output costing more. A year that begins with everything saying yes ends with a small number of things saying only if you do it properly. The recognisable moment is late spring, when a project born in the easy months suddenly demands twice the discipline nobody budgeted for. Both are true. Neither cancels the other.

WHAT HELPS

Use January to May to start things, and start fewer of them than the enthusiasm suggests — commit to what Suga would still want to be doing in November under worse conditions. Put down the assumption that momentum is proof of rightness.

A generous spring, a demanding summer, a hard-won autumn.

January opens with an old weight lifting in the first week — a long formal season finally releasing its grip. Through January the mind runs clear, with the sharpest stretch around the 21st and 22nd. Mid-January also brings the first friction with taste and money: something Suga values gets stretched too wide. February stays open. Early March is the peak — around the 11th, right beside the birthday, courage and opportunity arrive together. From 23 March the grind begins. Late April repeats January's clarity with more substance behind it. 22 May is the first real wall. Late July is the year's narrowest passage: rules and fog at once. September eases. Early October brings the second wall and, alongside it, a genuine warm opening that runs through early December. The year closes with that warmth reopening in the final ten days.

WHAT HELPS

Front-load anything requiring persuasion, speed or scale into January to early May, and protect July with fewer commitments than pride wants to accept. Do not schedule the biggest test of stamina in early October.

Suga gets warmer in public and stricter about who gets past the door.

Closeness this year runs on a delay. The first half makes Suga more available than usual — quicker to say the generous thing, easier company, more inclined to overpromise time that does not exist. Then from late May a colder, more selective instinct arrives and stays through September, and it is not coldness so much as accounting. Suga starts noticing which relationships are maintained out of habit and which are actually fed. Some connections quietly thin out in that stretch, without argument, simply from lack of renewal. Others get unexpectedly solid. The recognisable moment is a summer conversation where Suga says the plain, unglamorous version of a feeling instead of the charming one. October softens it again, and what returns is smaller and truer than what was there in March.

WHAT HELPS

When the summer makes Suga withdraw, name the withdrawal out loud to the two or three people who need to know it is not about them. Stop offering time in advance that the calendar cannot back.

The offers get bigger before the standards get harder.

Work this year has a strange shape: abundance first, discipline after. Through spring, reach expands — audiences, collaborators, requests, the sense that saying yes costs nothing. It does cost something, and the bill arrives from late March onward as a straightforward physical limit. Suga's natural mode is to work past tiredness quietly and let nobody see it; this year that method stops paying. Two moments in particular, late May and early October, will feel like pushing a locked door with the right key in hand. They are not rejections. They are the difference between fast work and durable work being made visible. Money follows the same rhythm: expansive impulses early, a sobering audit through the middle, a steadier and better-structured picture emerging from autumn.

WHAT HELPS

Build the boring infrastructure — rest, delegation, contracts, timelines — during the easy months of February to April, before it is needed. Drop the habit of proving stamina by refusing help.

Confidence arrives early; certainty has to be earned later.

January and February give Suga an unusual ease of self-recognition — the internal voice and the public one closer together than they usually sit. That is worth naming, because it does not last unchallenged. From late June into July a fog rolls in: motivation blurs, effort feels aimed at nothing in particular, and the usual method of working through low mood loses traction. It is a short passage, roughly five weeks, and it is best treated as weather rather than truth. What changes permanently is subtler. By autumn Suga is less interested in being capable of everything and more interested in being reliably good at a narrow thing. The self-image shrinks in scope and gains weight. Suga will recognise this the first time refusing something feels like relief instead of loss.

WHAT HELPS

Through July, lower the bar to maintenance and let that be enough; make no large decisions about direction while the fog is thickest. Keep the early-year clarity written down somewhere Suga can reread it in the dim weeks.

Suga ends the year with fewer commitments and better ones.

What 2026 leaves is a filter. The first half proves Suga can attract more than can be carried; the second half proves which parts were worth carrying. By December the pressure on drive is still live — this is not a resolved story, and it continues into the following year — but the confusion around it has cleared. Suga takes forward a working pace that accounts for a real body and a real limit, a shorter list of people who get honest access, and a taste that has been tested rather than assumed. The warm stretch returning in late December is not a reward; it is the first sign that the stricter version of Suga is easier to be generous from. What was given away in spring comes back in December in a form that costs less to hold.

WHAT HELPS

Going into next year, keep the summer's refusals rather than quietly reinstating everything once energy returns. Let the reduced list stay reduced.

A word from the stars

2026 gives Suga a genuinely wide opening and then teaches, slowly and without malice, that width is not the same as strength. The dates are worth marking: front-load ambition into the first five months, treat July gently, and expect early October to test rather than reward. What remains at the end is a smaller shape that holds more.
